What is entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship is the process of designing, launching and running a new business. This degree is in the context of a new venture or within an existing firm focusing on three areas including developing an entrepreneurial mindset, learning how to manage a small or family business and learning how to innovate and lead change.

Why entrepreneurship at OSU?

Our program focuses on four areas including developing an entrepreneurial mindset, learning how to launch a business, learning how to manage and grow a small or family business and leading change in an existing organization. The undergraduate program is consistently ranked as one of the top 25 programs in the nation by the Princeton Review. The Riata Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is an outreach center that support students through competitions, workshops, one-on-one mentoring and access to funding for new ventures.

An Entrepreneurship major provides the skills necessary for students to pursue career opportunities in:

Highlights

Student Success in Business Plan Competitions

Students compete in national business plan competitions. School of Entrepreneurship graduate-level teams placed 1st in the prestigious state-wide LOVE’s Cup competition in 2018, 2022 and 2023. Students also have access to entrepreneurship-specific internships, competitions, study abroad trips and scholarships.

Eastin Center for Career Readiness 

Through the Eastin Center, OSU supports students’ professional growth from awareness to knowledge acquisition, practice and ultimately successful implementation.
