What is geology?

Geology is a discipline centered on teaching how to interpret the history of the Earth. Learn to discover, recognize and use natural resources to improve the quality of human life.

Why geology at OSU?

Our undergraduate curriculum is designed to prepare you for graduate school and careers in industry as well as federal and state agencies. We offer suggested courses for select sub-disciplines in geology to better serve your interests.

  • Field Camp in Canon City, Colorado, teaches mapping, measuring, describing and interpreting the rock column.
  • Geochemistry Lab consists of state-of-the-art instruments, geochemical equipment and lab facilities.
