With over a 100-year heritage at OSU, our program is committed to enrichment through music education, performance and research for students from across the nation and world.

The Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music is a community of artists, performers, composers and scholars committed to preparing you for the professional world of music. The music program at OSU provides you with the opportunity to develop artistically while still being competitive in the profession, which prepares you for success in your chosen music specialty.

Students graduate prepared to be successful in a wide variety of musical careers that include performance, teaching, working in the music industry and beyond. Our graduates enjoy successful careers in a variety of fields.

The Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music at OSU provides you with opportunities to hone your skills and broaden your horizons as a musician through:

  • Participation in bands, choirs and/or orchestra
  • Interaction with renowned guest artists and clinicians
  • One-on-one private instruction with teachers
  • Touring opportunities with ensembles
  • Invited performances at various conventions
  • Courses to expect for this major include Music History, Music Theory, Large and Chamber Ensembles, Opera, Jazz Studies and Marching Band Methods.
  • Audio/visual recording sessions
