    Read your syllabi in all classes. Open your textbooks and use them! They are expensive and you bought them for a reason! Have fun and join organizations on campus.

    OSU its self is a tradition in my family. You don’t want to miss a thing from the orange fountain on Homecoming to fight songs to “Here comes Bullet!” – it’s all amazing!!

    Call your parents daily – they miss you and just a quick hello brightens their day and yours.

    OSU is a traditionally a friendly campus and that makes all the other traditions 10 times better. Everyone is friendly.

  • What is the one piece of advice that you would give a freshman?
    Learn time management and learn it ASAP. There are millions of eye catchers that can make your OSU experience wonderful but academics come first. Balancing eye catchers and academics is the challenge. Good luck!!!

    Homecoming! I love how big of a deal homecoming is to alumna and current students. It’s so amazing to see how much OSU means to people. The fountain is dyed orange and school pride is insanely high all week.

  • What is the one piece of advice that you would give a freshman?
    Don’t be afraid to get involved on campus. People here are wonderful and the more active you get on campus, the more you get to now your fellow students.

    Homecoming! It’s so great to see the whole town get involved and come together! We have the biggest one in the nation and it shows! It is so much fun!

    Don’t wait to get involved! A lot of people waste their first semester because they’re too scared, but OSU is a great experience! There is nothing better than getting plugged into campus.

    I love when we make a touchdown and all the fans are swinging their arms in unison. I also like when the fans shake their keys at the beginning of a kickoff.

    Don’t go out on Thursdays! Get involved and do things you have never done before. I think every freshman should try new things and have fun exploring what OSU has to offer.

    My favorite OSU tradition has got to be the Waving Wheat after a touchdown.

    There’s no sense in me saying “don’t party”. So my best piece of advice is make sure all your work is done ahead of time before going out.

    My favorite OSU tradition so far is the walk. I came from a smaller Division I university and they did not do anything like that.

  • What is the one piece of advice that you would give a freshman?
    Make sure you prioritize early on in the year. It is very easy to get off track, but it is SOOO hard to get back on track. Making sure you prioritize makes the experience that much more enjoyable.
