Pistol Pete wants you to join the Cowboy family.

You're on your way to becoming an official Cowboy.

The first step is completing the online application — which covers admission to the university and all university-sponsored scholarships.

Who counts as a freshman applicant?

If you will have graduated from high school by the time classes start and you have attempted less than 7 hours of college credit post-graduation, you're in the right place.

What's required? You'll need these four things to be considered for admission:

  1. Completed Admission/Scholarship application
  2. $40 nonrefundable application fee
  3. Official high school transcript reflecting unweighted GPA and class rank (if available)
  4. ACT or SAT test score*
*Students who select the option to apply to OSU without consideration of a test score on the application will be considered for admission based on a full review of their high school transcript. Class rank is not required for test optional admission. This option also applies to home school, private, parochial or other non-public high schools which are not accredited by a recognized accrediting agency.

*OSU will accept the official superscore provided directly from ACT for both admission and scholarship consideration.

Test optional admission & comprehensive review

At OSU, ALL students are encouraged to apply, no matter what your grades are.
We individually review each application for our holistic and alternative admission programs. We consider many factors, including: high school GPA, ACT or SAT scores, responses to application essays, academic letters of recommendation, leadership experience, community involvement and accomplishments.
Currently, consideration for most university scholarships requires an official test score from ACT or SAT*, and we encourage students to provide us their test scores as soon as they are available for complete scholarship consideration.
