The Bartlett Center for the visual arts has been home to The Oklahoma State University Department of Art since 1970. The building was constructed in 1909 and has since survived a fire in 1914 and proposed demolition during the 1960s.
The Bartlett Center consists of a gallery, the Visual Resources Library, and classrooms/studios for art history, painting, drawing, 2D design, jewelry/metals, graphic design, and illustration, as well as several large computer labs.
The Gardiner Art Gallery found in the Bartlett Center, opened in 1965. It functions as a valuable teaching resource and facility for the University and community to experience the visual arts.
