Academic College: College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources

A food scientist applies basic sciences (biology, physics, chemistry, and mathematics) to understand factors affecting food quality, safety and nutrition. Students learn to apply their knowledge in the selection, preservation, processing, packaging, distribution and use of safe, nutritious and wholesome foods. Graduates are well prepared to enter food-plant management, quality assurance, quality control, product development and sales.
